The coin shows the effigy of Grand Duke Henri on the right-hand side of its inner part, superimposed on the effigy of the Grand Duchess Charlotte, both looking
to the right. The vertically aligned text LËTZEBUERG and the year mark, flanked by the mint master's mark and the mint mark, appear on the left-hand side of the inner part of the coin. The twelve stars of the European Union surround the design on the outer ring of the coin.
